Since 2011, this nationwide event has contributed to changing the public’s perception – especially young people’s perception – of the manufacturing sector via events organised in Metropolitan France and overseas. A wide range of options (job dating, company visits, conferences, panels, classroom lectures ...) enable members of the public to discover an innovative, modern, and environmentally friendly sector. Manufacturing Week aims to:
enhance the attractiveness of the manufacturing sector and its careers;
introduce young people to jobs in the sector, with particular focus on the industry of the future;
promote the role of women in the manufacturing sector;
inform the general public of job opportunities in the sector;
showcase a modern, innovative, and environmentally friendly manufacturing sector ...
It is spearheaded by the Ministry for the Economy and Finance via the Directorate-General for Enterprise (DGE). Several partners (GFI, CCI France, CGMPE, Syntec Ingénierie, organisations, the DIRECCTE, the Ministries for Education, Higher Education, Research, Labour, Employment, Training, Social Dialogue, Agriculture, Food processing, Forestry, Culture, Communication ...) contribute to the success of Manufacturing Week each year. The 2017 edition brought together nearly 300,000 participants at 2,400 events around France.
